![]() Employee Benefits/ERISAEmployee benefits have always been an important means for Perkins Thompson's clients to attract and retain qualified employees. The firm recognizes this by dedicating certain lawyers to the Employee Benefits/ERISA Practice Group. These lawyers have substantial knowledge and experience with the employee benefits provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). These lawyers work closely with other lawyers in the firm's Employment/Labor Practice Group to provide clients with a full service approach to the employer/employee relationship. Some particular services of the firm's employee benefit lawyers include design and implementation of benefit programs, such as 401(k) plans and health and welfare plans. The firm also works closely on employee benefit issues with outside consultants such as accountants and third party administrators. Our employee benefit lawyers also work closely with lawyers in our Merger and Acquisition Practice Group to address and resolve benefit issues that typically arise in an acquisition, including controlled group issues. The firm's Employee Benefit Practice Group also has substantial experience with withdrawal liability claims of multiemployer pension plans.
