Mr. Scannell joined Perkins Thompson as a shareholder/director in January, 2001 with more than 15 years of Maine legal experience in a wide range of real estate matters from the perspective of lenders, borrowers, businesses and municipalities.

Mr. Scannell lives in North Yarmouth with his wife, school-age son and daughter and various pets. He is an active runner, cross-country skier and sailor, and has participated in more than 25 running marathons, including 10 times as an official entrant in the Boston Marathon, and has competed in cross-country ski events across New England and Quebec. Mr. Scannell is a member of the North Yarmouth Planning Board, and is on the Board of Directors of the North Yarmouth Land Trust and the Maine Real Estate and Development Association. He and his family travel frequently to the family home in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
